Aunty Dot was a very caring and giving person who would help anyone.Growing up in a family with gramma and grampa in Malama Iki my sisters and I would receive Christmas gifts for many years from aunty Dot. She worked at a insurance company for a long time. She and Uncle Dave would come over to kauai for vacations all the time. Uncle Dave loved to go fishing at Kokee for trout for a number of years. Uncle Dave passed away 23 Nov 1997 he was a professional photographer and had a shop at waikiki. He took many pictures of the war. When Aunty Dot passed away I went to her services at the Lutheran Church in town. Her daughrter clare passed away 3 days before aunty's funeral.I went back for clare's funeral and the services was packed with people. The Pastor invited anyone to come and share a few comments. I waited untill the last moment and did share my feelings with everyone gathered there. It gave me an opportunity to share my testimony and feelings about charity and the pure love of Christ. It was really quiet and while Ilijah and his children were on the front row my thoughts were directed to them. Also I mentioned how important the family is and how our priorties need to put in order. How we need to take care of our immediate family so we can be strenghten by each other and support each other.Bearing testimony to all these people was important so each person would know what I stood for and how important it is to share our love of the Savior. After I sat down the Pastor forget to give his members the Sacrament and he was a bit nervous. When the service was over there were a few who came to shake my hand and said that they appreciated the Testimony and felt it. It was the Spirit of th Lord that was present and I thank Heavenly Father for the opportunity because it opened the door for missionary work among my Ohana. My mom later asked how come Pastor forget the Sacrament and I new why and didnot tell her because I felt that it didn't matter, The most important thing was my testimony to them because that is what I was supposed to express to my family and anyone present. I know it is Heavenly Fathers way of reaching people by the spirit so they could feel his love for them. I also met a Mr. Bivins at Aunty Dots funeral. He has since passed away about 4 months ago. We stayed with jeany at her home in kaneohe for the weekend and after the funeral went home to her house. That evening she brought out a book of genealogy on Uncle Daves side of the family. We have since worked on it and did some Temple work on half of the book. Right now we are working on the other half and it is now ready to be checked for Temple Ready Process at the Family History Center in Lihue. I hope to get it done after the Pageant "A PROMISE KEPT" and Nate Wingate called and is here with his bride for a honeymoon at the Marriot Hotel. Cousin Sam Kekauoha is helping out a lot with our genealogy and temple work for Uncle Daves Ancestors. I am very grateful for that . We now need to work on Uncle Dave,Aunty Dot, and Clare and get them baptized in the Temple,
Endowments and sealing it has been a year. Now is the time.
